After our 2009 attempt at this kind of event, 2010 was the way to go.
A great time was had by everybody.

In the blazing sun at over 30 degrees 27 fearless bicycle riders motivated by over 200 sponsors set out for a mission …

Tour 1: Easy Ride

Eva, Judee, Jelene, Jerwin, Rendereza, Mathieu, Chris, Xenia, Marielle Elisheva and Christiaan decided it was too hot to drive long distances and quite rightly end up changing their course to stay in the cooler forests and clocked an impressive 34 km.

Tour 2: Prove you are fit Ride

Jean-Paul and his team:
Jean-Paul, Laurence, Francesco, Daniel, Jun, Marc, Ahmet, Nicholas, Kevin and John ended up following the 55 km as instructed:

Some complaints were heard about the fact that the last part is a nice downhill but ending with a few short but heavy hills “into the bumbs”. It was mentioned that this was “the icing on the cake” but somehow these arguments did not find any positive reactions!

Others decided that a bit of sightseeing off the track would be nice, luckily they found their way back on track after looking around and all but one (cramp attack) completed the tourwithout a hitch.

Tour 3: Challenge Ride

Little did I know this ride would live up to it’s name!
Robert decided to pull out a bike with with a fixed gear ratio and no free wheel from his bike collection and give it a go. My bike was arguably the most heavily laden bike (it always is). And so we set off

Tour 4: Cyclo Sport

Jean-Pierre, Niklas, Eric, Pascal and Robert up doing 174 km roughly following the “Charly Gaul” tour with over 2500 meters of climbing.

Tour 5: Alex!

Alex set out to do as many kilometers as he could and ended up with 203 km.

Alexs’ notes:

“Dear sponsors and supporters,

to begin, let me once again THANK YOU for your great support!

Here is a short summary of the event last Sunday:

The weather was perfectly sunny, hot and rainless, the roads relatively unpopulated due to the weather and the ongoing football events and, motivated by all of you, I managed to do 203 km !
Overall, I made two stops, the first one after 130 km, rather short, just to refill liquids and the second one after 165 km at the “event’s headquarter” at Edward’s place in Biwer with really tasty Filipino food as a perfect roundup.
Many thanks to everybody involved in the logistics and cooking!
Overall, a great Sunday event (despite the missed football game, but they won anyway 😉 )”

LPAD wishes to thank all riders, sponsors and supporters of this event. The riders for their effort and time, the sponsors for their great generosity and the supporters for the fantastic food and helping the rides in need.

Hope to see you all back next year with an even greater turnout.
